Number Eight: Kabayan. In the Philippines, you’ll find a collection of caves called the Kabayan. The Kabayan is comprised of man-made caves filled with mummies, and there are so many mummies that they appear to overflow from the caves. Because there are so many caves in the system, it is also very easy to get lost. As far as vacation spots go, this one is one of the most interesting!
Number Seven: Bird Suicide Grounds of Jatinga. Located in northern India is a place where birds go to die. No, they’re not dying by human hands; instead, every year hundreds of birds dive to their own deaths on these grounds. Interestingly, these suicides only ever occur between seven and ten p.m.
Number Six: City Hall Subway Station. Though Manhattan is easily one of the most densely populated places in the world, the City Hall subway station in Manhattan has been abandoned for nearly 70 years. Since it shut down, there has only been once public expedition in the station, which occurred on the station’s 100-year anniversary.
Number Five: San Zhi Resort. Located in Taiwan, the San Zhi Resort was made to be a luxury resort, but after it was linked to a series of fatal accidents, the resort was shut down. Not even the locals dare to stay in this resort.
Number Four: Takakonuma Greenland Park. Greenland’s Takakonuma Park is a theme park that was built with the intentions of becoming the “happiest place on earth.” However, it was quickly shut down after a series of deaths due to the dangerous rides.
Number Three: Prypiat. Prypiat is a town in the Ukraine that was abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster. It appears to stand still in history, and today there are schoolhouses that people have gone back to make even creepier. Some people have even gone so far as to put mutilated dolls on chairs and arrange them in a circle to really up the creep factor.
Number Two: Winchester Mystery House. This house is located in San Jose, California. There are 160 rooms, many dead ends, staircases that lead to nowhere, and other maze-like structures. The house was built by Sarah Winchester, who was rumored to be haunted. She felt that she had to keep building at all times to avoid an untimely death.
Number One: The Overtoun Bridge. The Overtoun Bridge can be found in Scotland. Despite the fact that nobody has died from suspicious circumstances on this bridge, hundreds upon hundreds of dogs have committed suicide near or on this bridge. This has been occurring since the 1960s.
